Here at New Dawn we use the principle of circular economy. Striving to protect nature, eliminate waste and pollution, reuse and recycle materials to keep them circulating for as long as possible. As the world’s population continues to grow we aim to throw away nothing, thereby reducing the need to use more resources.

Certified organic ingredients
We use COSMOS certified organic ingredients in all our New Dawn products. Organic practices provide many animal welfare and environmental benefits for soils, water and biodiversity; keeping our rivers and oceans clean of run-off from toxic chemicals, reducing our carbon footprint and combating climate change. There is 50% more wildlife found on organic land than non-organic.
The COSMOS-standard is guided by four core principles:
- Promoting the use of products from organic agriculture, and respecting biodiversity.
- Using natural resources responsibly, and respecting the environment.
- Using processing and manufacturing techniques that are clean and respectful of human health and the environment.
- Integrating and developing the concept of green chemistry.
The COSMOS-standard's ultimate objective is to address the major issues effecting the welfare of us humans and our environment.
Plastic free compostable packaging
All our organic natural soap bar / Shampoo bar packaging is compostable and plastic free. Switching to a plastic free soap / shampoo bar is a simple way to reduce plastic in your home and reduce your environmental impact.
Prevented Ocean Plastic
All our 250ml products are now packaged in refillable Prevented Ocean Plastic bottles. 'Prevented Ocean Plastic' represents the identity of a brand crafted by a group situated in Richmond Green, London. Their unwavering commitment is aimed at creating a meaningful impact on the global stage.
Prevented Ocean Plastic refers to recycled plastic that has been gathered from coastal areas that are susceptible to ocean plastic pollution. This material, according to academic study, would likely enter the ocean if not retrieved for recycling because:
- The country or region lacks waste management infrastructure and collection incentives.
- The infrastructure is being overwhelmed by population growth or tourism.
- There is a significant risk to wildlife if plastic contaminates their ecosystem.
- It is found within 50km (30mi) distance of an ocean coastline or major waterway that feeds into the ocean.
Their interpretation of 'ocean bound plastic' is influenced by the pioneering efforts of Dr. Jenna Jambeck, a Distinguished Professor of Environmental Engineering and a MacArthur Fellow in 2022.
The objectives of the Ocean Plastic Prevention Program include boosting the utilisation of recycled plastic in place of new plastic, generating income prospects within coastal communities, and effectively halting ocean plastic pollution on a substantial scale.
Prevented Ocean Plastic operates on a global scale. Their programme distinctly pinpoints regions lacking established recycling systems, offering brand owners and their customers a transparent way to trace the origins of materials used in their products to particular coastal communities in vulnerable zones. These at-risk areas include South East Asia, South America including the Galapagos Islands, Central America & the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean.
Refill service
Our 1 and 5 Litre containers are now made using recycled plastic. When they are empty you can send them back to us to be refilled, receiving a £5 voucher in the process.
We are particularly proud of our unique Sustainable Living Packs. Our containers are so strong they can be refilled and used many times and then recycled again.
